(I have lost this bloody thing two times while trying to write it and my stupid ipad crashes and all the work is lost, but I’m writing it for the third time so here you go)

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS BOOK REVIEW

The fault in our stars is the beautiful story of Augustus and Hazel who are both struggling with cancer (well Augustus is all clear but Hazel is safe as long as she keeps on carrying a tank around for her lungs), well you could say Augustus may be struggling with the thought of cancer coming back. Ever since they met at cancer support group, hazels life changed. They bonded and fell in love with their incredible, creative imagination and their love for writing. They would swap books and give each other updates over on the phone. The two kept on growing closer and closer.

Now you would expect a cancer story to be depressing, but no. The author, John Green has given the story an incredible twist. The young couple may be struggling, but they manage to live life to the fullest, be happy and have the time of their lives. With their love for stories, their imagination and love for each other, they live life the happiest they can. Augustus is just the dream guy any girl would want. He’s such a sweet person, has a incredible sense of humour and as a incredible wit. What I also love about this book is the intellectual discussions and conversations such as the “fear of oblivion” which did make me feel a bit sad.

It was a thought provoking book, which really does make you have to stop and wonder for a while, and just pause for a second. I can picture clearly in my mind Hazel, with short, chocolate brown glossy hair styled like Natalie Portman, and Augustus who looks like Logan Lerman (look him up) with his beautiful sounding laugh and charming smile. This book is a roller coaster of happiness, sadness, laughter, fun and so much more. And there comes a question- why is this book called the fault in our stars?

The author had took a quote from a Shakespeare play, which was roughly something like, “my dear Brutus, the fault is not in our stars, but us.” Now the author is saying, no, that’s not right. There’s a certain sort of fault in our stars that makes the universe the way it is,like young innocent people like Hazel and Augustus having bad luck. I just think that’s so clever isn’t it? It’s such a beautiful and unique title!

Now heres the simple fact I loved this book. The romantic love for Hazel and Augustus was perfect, unique and different from other couples (how many boys you’ve met love writing and have a passion for writing), and the unique twist made the book so readable and just beautiful. I can’t tell you what happens at the end, but it’s a 10/10 from me! Try reading it and see what you think! 😉

Why Books Are Amazing!

Are you that type of person who hates books? You can’t stand to even look at a page and read for at least five minutes? Why? All my life I’ve just loved reading. When I read, I forget where I am instantly. It feels so real, I can imagine it inside my head, like watching a movie. Books can make anything possible. I can always get lost into another world, and it feels magical. But the question is, why are books hated by so much people?

My theory (which may be wrong, but anyway) is that people don’t bother to actually put the effort into reading a book and sitting in a corner for a while. They don’t want to read because they just don’t feel like it. Generally, people who have more interest in English naturally like reading and have a good imagination, but whether you like English or not, try reading a book! If you’ve read a book before and you weren’t able to finish it or didn’t enjoy it that was probably because you haven’t found a book that suits your style. What is your style of books? Action? Comedy? Romance? I’m at the moment obsessed with The Hunger Games. I’ve read the The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and now I’m on Mockingjay.

I’m quite interested in Cathy Cassidy’s books too. They are so good as well. I simply love reading because I can escape from the real world, fantasize about something that probably won’t happen in real life. Would Hogwarts exist in real life? Would there be a reaping every year for The Hunger Games? Books do make the most impossible of things possible. I always enjoy getting a book for Christmas or my birthday, only if it is a good book worth reading.

I must admit, sometimes I have to give up on a book. Sometimes the book just isn’t my reading style and I can’t carry on, which is normal for a lot of people. I know a lot of people think its geeky and weird to like this sort of stuff, but if you put the effort, I guarantee you will find an amazing book!
